In 2026, Creators of Peace International will mark 35 years of women-led peacebuilding, relational leadership, and community transformation. Founded in 1991 at the Caux Palace in Switzerland, the movement has grown into a global network active in over 40 countries, with deep roots in Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, the Pacific, and the Middle East.
To honour this milestone, we will gather at Maanzoni Lodge near Nairobi, Kenya, from 14-17 October 2026.This return to the African continent is both symbolic and strategic. Africa has been a heartbeat of Creators of Peace, offering powerful models of grassroots leadership, intergenerational dialogue, and healing-centred community building.
The gathering will bring together approximately 250-300 participants, including women peacebuilders, facilitators, community leaders, and allies. It will be a moment to pause, reflect, and reimagine, to celebrate legacy, renew relationships, and cultivate the moral courage needed to confront the escalating global cultures of contempt, corruption, and conflict.
At a time of increasing global fragmentation, Creators of Peace offers a different way forward, one centred on humility, listening, and conscience.
This anniversary is more than a celebration. It is a strategic convergence of values, voices, and visions, calling
us to:
- Reclaim peace as relational, not performative.
- Counter structural violence with inner clarity and collective courage.
- Strengthen a movement of women who lead from stillness, story, and service.
Hosting this gathering in Kenya honours the continent that has hosted a significant portion of all CoP activities in recent years and where transformative peacebuilding is being quietly nurtured in communities, refugee camps, prisons, and homes.
