- The Trustbuilding Program is for strengthening existing local teams - not to rebuild them.
Do you already have a consistent team in place? It is important to have sufficient capacity to get the project moving forward. The Program is a great opportunity, but it asks for a considerable time investment on the part of team members. - Collaboration with IofC International is an enhancement to your work.
We support you with training, fundraising, communications, content design and evaluation. This collaboration comes with some guidelines that we recommend participating teams go by. It is important to be open to possibly reshaping some of the processes in your team’s work. - Your team should have partnerships in place.
Building trust is not a one-person job. The stronger your partnerships are, the higher the chances of success for implementing your project. - Trustbuilding is a key strategic goal for your team.
As the name of the Program indicates, we are focused on building trust within communities. Especially those in conflict situations. Therefore, it is important that the national teams see this as a boost to their work and an integral part of their respective national strategies for impact, growth and sustainability. - Your team is committed to the IofC methodology.
This includes self-reflection, the four values, starting with oneself, personal responsibility, listening and taking focused action. - Your project has a long-term view.
This means your project recognizes that making a systemic change, by building trusting relationships, are needed for policy change. - There is a plan to empower leaders in place.
You have thought about how to accompany, train, inspire and equip current and emerging leaders, at all levels, with the inner qualities and skills to build trust across deep divides. We will support you in your evaluation and trainings, but a baseline plan should already be in place. - You are clear how your project works.
Understanding how your project seeks to heal historic wounds, bring together diverse and unlikely groups in honest and inclusive conversation, and develop and sustain multi-sector networks working for social cohesion and equity are essential. - You’ll need to raise funds.
There will be an initial allocation from IofCI funds, sourced from the Fetzer Institute, towards your project. We expect you to commit to fundraise the difference and we will support you in the process including doing joint fundraising applications. In-kind support from your team will also be encouraged and counts towards your overall project budget.
